The story takes place in an alternative universe in which Ginger does not die at the end of the first movie, but instead Brigitte
manages to inject her with monkshood. In this story, monkshood is still a kind of palliative medicine, but not a cure; it is also
canon that Ginger killed Sam and that Jason was turned into a werwolf, so the Fitzgerald family decides to move from
Bailey Downs to another quiet suburb to start over. This also implies that Ginger is institutionalized in a psychiatric hospital and
Brigitte is in therapy. Of course, the general situation emotionally sinks Brigitte because, in addition, Ginger is upset with her for
having stopped her transformation (even if only temporarily) and although Brigitte insists on communicating with her, Ginger refuses.
Brigitte's integration into her new highschool is also complicated; now she must face the same bullying and isolation as in
Bailey Downs, but on her own. In addition, she starts to sense that something (or someone) has been following her to this new place,
and a couple of boys at school, Dylan McBride and Holden Blackburn —social outcasts, fans of the occult and paranormal—
are investigating the same phenomenon.
Will Brigitte be able to find another cure and break the curse?
Do Holden and Dylan hide something else or will they join her in the search?
What will happen with Ginger's fate?
