Ginger Snaps (2000) is movie directed by John Fawcett. It follows two sisters -Brigitte & Ginger- who harbor a fascination with death.
On the quiet suburbs of Bailey Downs a rash of dog killing strikes and the Fizgerald sisters decide to kidnap their school bully's dog,
but the night they set their plan in motion, Ginger gets her period -or the curse like she named it- and the scent of blood results on the girls
getting attacked by the creature responsible for the killings. Only Ginger is bitten and the consecuences of the bite start to show in weird
ways, while Brigitte tries to find a cure for Ginger's new condition.

The brilliance of Ginger Snaps lies in the use of lycanthropy as a metaphor
for puberty and its execution. In the hands of people focused on the
shock factor, this film would have easily been forgotten, but the reason it is
so endearing is the total understanding of the metaphor and of what it means to be
a teenage girl. Brigitte and Ginger start the film weary of the quiet,
suburban life that Bailey Downs offers them; they make a vow to die together
at 16, there is no other way. But the paradigm shifts once Ginger is bitten
and begins to experience changes beyond her control, which leads to the
deterioration of the sisterly relationship. And it is particularly sad
(like the film's own ending) because not only is Ginger betrayed
by her own body, but she also lost the innocence of believing she could be
different. The thing about being a teenage girl is that it is an intrinsically
violent process, you can perfectly establish a before and after in your
life with the onset of puberty. And the grotesque physical changes go
hand in hand with the change that occurs in the way society sees you and what it
expects from you. Sure, adolescence is a natural process and happens to
everyone, but it is not as abrupt as it can happen to a girl. It is as if a fire inside
you ignites to never be extinguished again and feeds on the foundations
of your childhood. Adolescence can be lethal, I say this precisely because
of the end of the film, and although I believe this can be taken literally, I say it
in the sense that even if you overcome adolescence, adolescence will
have taken a part of you forever and that feels like dying.

The soundtrack of this movie is superb, take a shot.

I linked one of the most iconics songs of the soundtrack, but the movie features a ton of bangers. There's Cradle of Filth, Fear factory,
Proyect 86 and more. There are a lot of industrial/heavy tunes that set the tone to the chaotic downfall of Ginger.
